Today we honor St. Bernardine of Siena, a 15th-century Franciscan preacher known as the Apostle of the Holy Name. He encouraged people to place the Holy Name at the center of their lives, often holding aloft a plaque bearing the Christogram IHS - a symbol still used today to represent the name of Jesus. St. Bernardine of Siena, pray for us!
