This year marks the 1,700th anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea, a landmark moment in the life of the Church. Convened in 325 A.D. by Emperor Constantine, the Council brought bishops from across the Christian world together to affirm the divinity of Christ and safeguard the truth of our faith. From this Council came the Nicene Creed, which we profess at every Sunday Mass - a beautiful summary of what we believe as Catholics and a sign of the unity of the Church.
